This BC | B22 | Bayonet Cap Bronze Switched Safer Lampholder 10mm Entry 2850949 is the ideal option for sprucing up a sentimental table lamp or light fitting of your own design. With the sliding bar switch on the connection unit, it adds a pretty timeless feature to the light fitting.
Comes in 4 parts comprising of the cap which is the section that screws onto the fixing of the light fitting (or cord grip for a pendant lamp) the centre connection unit where you will connect the live (Brown) and neutral (Blue) and Earth (Yellow and Green) then the top section which will screw over the connection unit and onto the cap. Not to forget the locking ring (Thicker Ring) that holds the cap and skirt together and the shade ring the clamp the shade (Thinner Ring).

Please Note: This
Lampholder has a red safety device pin in between the lamp pins, this
means that a light bulb has to be inserted for the switch to work. The
push bar will turn to the off position as soon as the lamp is removed so
turning the power to the lampholder off.
This BC Safety Lampholder is ideal for children’s bedrooms or the elderly with this safety device.
Do not try to force the push bar without a lamp fitted, it will not slide.
As this is a metal lampholder, ensure you use a 3 core mains flex to provide an earth connection to this lampholder.

Ordered from web site and delivery was despatched next day but Royal Mail took 14 days to deliver. But now fitted to my floor lamp.

As described good quality
This safety light fitting was a bit iffy as the switch did not always work unless the centre pin was pushed down fully. The light bulb I had didn't do this without help. In fact, that was much the same problem with the old switch. So I've now replaced it with [2850898] which removes the centre pin. I have no kids who might want to stick their fingers in. Otherwise, the switch looks the part.
Robust construction unlike some!
More sturdy than it looks, lovely finish.
The safety device is all well and good if your lamps depress it enough otherwise it hinders operation. I had to remove it to get the switch to activate.
Wanted to refit/ require an old brass lamp and this is perfect. I’d already bought a cable with switch so have ended up with a double switch mechanism but that was my fault. No problems with the product
