This Gold Single Pole In Line Switch is designed to be added to the flex of a table lamp.
The In Line Switch has a terminal for the Neutral wire and the Earth wire with the Live being connected to the switch part.
There is a cord grip in each end of the In Line Switch.
This switch can be used with either 2 core or 3 core flex.

These torpedo style in line switches are a faff to wire with 3 core flex! The live wire needs to be so short you have minimal manoeuvrability for neutral and earth. The casing is low rent plastic although once screwed down they feel relatively secure and solid.
I cant say I love these fittings ..I.wanted inline switching and they "do" is about it.. flimsy components.entirely reliant on the two casing screws for rigidity .. the 'gold' is even Naffer in real life than the the Web pictures suggest. Bottom line is it does the job and is passable , but really this is an overpriced product that cost pennies to make and should be more realistically priced. It seems to work OK but the flimsy switch spring and rocker pins don't inspire confidence or impart any sense of value for money.
Needed to fit inline switches to some old wooden lamps that had gold cable. Was amazed to find this site had exactly what I wanted.

I used this on a table lamp I made for my son and was surprised and very pleased with the design and quality. Although it is only single pole there are three terminals on both sides of the switch making it very easy to fit. There is also a clamping system at both ends of the switch giving very good cable security.

The gold in line switch is just the job for my latest conversion project (ie making a lamp) out of some object or other, which I'm keeping secret as I don't want the supply to dry up and as Lampspares are good value and quality with swift delivery, I can highly recommend them and their products
Nice little switches and perfect for the purpose. Fiddly when its a 3 core cable.
Just the job, quick delivery
As others have commented - rather fiddly, especially if you have a thick three core cable. Finally got it in and now works perfectly and looks good with my gold cable. Prompt delivery - shame the postage costs more than the switch.

A fiddly wee thing especially when using braided cable, switch springs came apart while wiring but managed to put it all back together eventually. Once the job was done it feels and works absolutely fine. Great delivery service too.
